One Voice – Community Choir

One Voice is a community choir that uses St. Matthew’s Church, Portman Road, Ipswich as its base.

Research has shown that singing literally is ‘good for the soul’ and has a positive impact on our mental well-being. The choir’s main aim is therefore to bring people together to enjoy singing, to make new friends and build relationships.

We are a very friendly and welcoming group, which is open to anyone, whatever their singing ability or experience. There is no need to be able to read music, as each song is taught aurally, as well as having music available. We sing in parts and unison, so those who are new to singing can learn the melody whilst still providing a challenge for more seasoned singers. We sing a range of songs, from different genres, but most of all we have fun.

Each week we start with some vocal warm-ups, followed by about 45 minutes of singing. Afterwards, we enjoy a time of socialising over a cup of tea / coffee and cake.

So what are you waiting for? Why not come along and give us a try?
